About us
Sebastian Onken is one of the two managing directors and founded the OOC company in 2014. Since mid-2020 his sister Katharina Onken has become part of the OOC management as second managing director thus combining Sebastian’s technical expertise with Katharina’s sound commercial knowledge. Both started their careers in the HV cable industry and have developed a high level of expertise in the implementation of onshore and offshore projects over the course of their professional lives.

Especially the provision of qualified personnel in the field of wind turbines cable technology (MV/HV/FO) and project management are main competences. We contribute our experience from the planning phase to engineering and operational implementation. It is our aim to execute your offshore projects with the best specialists in the required quality time and at the planned costs and to reduce implementation risks to a minimum. Especially with an early involvement an optimized project development can take place. OOC is not only involved as an external consultant but our employees complement the project teams on a long-term basis and are responsible for the successful project implementation as an integrated partner. With Nordenham OOC has chosen a location close to the coast to be at the customer’s site even at short notice.
In recent years, OOC has been involved in many German offshore wind farm projects as well as international projects.
Our areas of expertise include the provision of key positions for cable installation and subsequent commissioning as well as the provision of service personnel and system controls for maintenance and repair work on offshore wind farms. This service portfolio combined with our own special test equipment and the necessary documentation bases enables OOC to bundle many activities in-house and thus deliver cost-effective solutions tailored to individual customer needs at short notice.
Since 2019, OOC has its official headquarters in Nordenham, Germany. This includes, in addition to sufficient workstations, conference rooms and a comprehensive warehouse.

Katharina Onken and Sebastian Onken – a brother and sister team with broad expertise
Sebastian Onken is one of the two managing directors and founded the OOC company in 2014. Since mid-2020, his sister Katharina Onken has become part of the OOC management as second managing director, thus combining Sebastian’s technical expertise with Katharina’s sound commercial knowledge. Both started their careers in cable manufacturing and have developed a high level of expertise in the implementation of onshore and offshore projects over the course of their professional lives.
Sebastian Onken has already worked on projects worldwide and has successfully participated in the construction and commissioning of offshore wind farms in various positions. Starting as an offshore fitter, he first gained expertise in cable installations himself, which he later applied as project manager for the construction and subsequent commissioning of a North Sea wind farm. His further experience includes the park-internal cabling as well as the installation and landing of a power export cable.
Katharina Onken knows the onshore and offshore industry from its technical and commercial side. Starting as a commercial project manager, she has gained in-depth expertise in project management, contract law and claim management. In the course of her professional career she has taken over the overall management of offshore projects in the fields of energy submarine cables and telecommunication cables as well as sub-project manager for onshore projects.
Team
Our core team comes from cable and wind turbine manufacturing, offshore electrical and offshore telecommunications backgrounds.
The extensive experience of our team members ranges from project managers/construction managers to cable test engineers protection relay experts and WTG controllers. For years our employees have held key positions in the offshore industry and have successfully implemented large-scale offshore projects with their expertise.
We understand the dynamics of projects and implement them with a high level of commitment the necessary foresight and flexibility.
In addition we have a selected and proven international network of experts with whom we have already successfully implemented large-scale offshore projects. In addition we are in possession of a permit for employee leasing in Germany (ANÜ).
In order to be able to check and correct occupational safety issues flexibly and at short notice our internal electrical specialist is available to assist our colleagues.
